EDHARA PAYMENT SOLUTION PRIVATE LIMITED maintains automated transaction monitoring and reconciliation mechanisms to protect all retailers and consumers against dropped, delayed, or failed payment events.
1. Electricity Bill Payments & BBPS
Electricity bill settlements are submitted to power utilities (AVVNL, JVVNL, JdVVNL, UPPCL, etc.) in real time:
- Successful Settlement: Once a discom generates a valid BBPS transaction reference / receipt number, the payment cannot be cancelled or reversed, as funds are already transferred to the government utility account.
- Pending / Discom Timeouts: If a transaction enters a "Pending" status due to discom server downtime, our auto-reconciliation engine queries the discom switch every 15 minutes. If confirmed, the receipt is delivered; if rejected by the discom, 100% of the funds are refunded back to the agent wallet instantly.
- Failed Transactions: If debit occurs but the discom refuses the bill (e.g. bill already paid, invalid account), funds are automatically reversed back to the source wallet within 2 to 24 hours.
2. Domestic Money Transfer (DMT) & IMPS
- If an IMPS transaction returns a failure status from the beneficiary bank, the debited amount is returned to the retailer wallet automatically along with the transfer surcharge.
- If an IMPS transaction is marked "Pending" by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), standard banking resolution guidelines dictate a maximum clearing window of T+2 business days.
3. Mobile & DTH Recharges
Prepaid top-ups are non-refundable once the telecom operator acknowledges the recharge with a live Operator Transaction ID (Op-ID). If an operator reports failure, the wallet balance is restored immediately.
4. AEPS Cash Withdrawal Discrepancies
In the rare event where a customer's bank account is debited but the biometric terminal encounters a communication failure before dispensing:
- Under RBI circular guidelines, the issuing bank is obligated to reverse the customer's funds within 5 business days (T+5).
- Retailers are encouraged to provide the customer with the 12-digit RRN / UTR number generated by the Edhara terminal for easy tracking with their home bank.
